The Allied Locks Integribolt is a heavy-duty retrofit locking system developed to improve the security and reliability of transformer cabinets, fibreglass kiosks and other outdoor electrical enclosures. Designed and manufactured by Allied Locks, the Integribolt replaces traditional night latches with a true bolt locking system, providing improved security, corrosion resistance and long-term reliability without replacing the cabinet itself.
Through years of working alongside electricity network operators throughout New Zealand and Australia, Allied Locks identified recurring problems with traditional cabinet latches. Cabinet doors were failing to latch correctly, components were corroding, vibration was loosening fixings, and otherwise serviceable cabinets were being replaced simply because the locking system had failed. The Integribolt was developed to solve these problems while extending the service life of existing cabinets. The result is a robust retrofit locking solution designed not only to solve the shortcomings of traditional latches, but to outlast the asset it is installed on.
Traditional night latches rely on a spring-loaded latch engaging correctly every time the cabinet door closes. In practice, cabinet distortion, vibration, wear and poor alignment can prevent the latch from engaging properly, leaving the cabinet unsecured even though the door appears to be closed. The consequences can be serious. Cabinet doors have been known to spring open unexpectedly, potentially exposing members of the public, contractors and field staff to hazardous live electrical equipment, increasing the risk of unauthorised access, vandalism and costly equipment damage. The Integribolt replaces the traditional latch with a positive locking bolt, providing greater security and confidence that the cabinet has been properly secured.
Unlike a spring-loaded latch, the Integribolt uses a positive locking bolt that fully engages with the cabinet frame. The key cannot be removed until the bolt is fully extended, giving the operator confidence that the cabinet has been properly secured. Quite simply, it's a bolt—not a latch.
Yes. The Integribolt has been specifically designed as a retrofit solution for existing transformer cabinets and fibreglass kiosks. In most cases, existing cabinets can be upgraded without replacing the enclosure, significantly reducing upgrade costs while extending the service life of valuable assets.
Yes. The Integribolt has been designed to utilise the fixing points of the widely used Lockwood 201 night latch and other common latch brands. Additional fixing points are also provided should the original fixing holes have become damaged or corroded over time, making retrofit installation straightforward.
The Integribolt is available in two versions. The standard Integribolt incorporates a 16 mm locking bolt, while the Integribolt Xtend features a 30 mm extended locking bolt. The Xtend version has been developed specifically for cabinets where additional bolt engagement is required due to cabinet flex, door movement or larger door clearances commonly found in fibreglass and older cabinets.
